Colasanti's Field Trip

We had a great time at Colasanti's yesterday, learning about animals. Thank you to the parebnts that were able to attend and chaperone the students. Here are a few pictures from yesterday.

     

   

                

Literacy Pumpkins

Just a reminder that our Literacy Pumpkins are due tomorrow. The students are expected to talk briefly about their characters in French to the class.

Also, tomorrow is Orange and Black Day.

Literacy Pumpkins

Some Literacy Pumpkins have already been sent to school. They look amazing!!!I look forward to seeing all of the pumpkins, and to hear all about the characters in the books they choose.

Colasanti's Field Trip Tomorrow

Tomorrow is our field trip to Colasanti's. The morning will be spent outside. Please dress your child for the weather. Also, the students will have some free time in the afternoon. You can send them with money if you would like. The students will be responsible for their own money.

Halloween is quickly approaching. Please remember that the students are not able to give away food items to their classmates. If you would like to give the students a little treat, little items from the dollar store are always a hit. Also, costumes are not permitted, but we encourage everyone to wear ORANGE and BLACK.

Math Test and Halloween Recipes

We are finishing up our second math unit on Adding and Subtracting 2-digit numbers without regrouping. The students have learned strategies that will help them count a large number of objects. We will be finishing our unit with a Math Test on Tuesday, October 29.

In French this week, we have been reading the story, Un chef monstre. The students have learned many new vocabulary words while reading this book. As an accompanying task to the story, the students have been learning about Procedural Writing, and how to write a recipe. Each student will create their own Halloween Recipes.

          

Loonie License and Colasanti's Field Trip

Loonie License sheets were sent yesterday. If you and your child would like to participate, please fill in the sheet, and send money by Friday, October 25th.
       

Also, our Colasanti's field trip is quickly approaching. If you have not already done so, please sent permission forms and payment (online or cash) to the school by Friday, October 25, 2019.

Math Tests

If you could please sign, and return the Math tests from last week, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hot Lunch and Scholastic Orders

Tomorrow is class Picture Day.

There will be a hot lunch from Koolini's on Friday, October 25, 2019. The due date for the orders is Monday, October 21st. 



Scholastic book orders were sent home today. If you would like to make an order the due date will be Thursday, October 31, 2019.

Addition and Subtraction Stories

Today we were working on creating, and solving addition and subtraction stories.

          

This Week

I hope that everyone had had a nice Thanksgiving weekend! This week, we are fortunate to be doing the prayers over the announcements this week. Thursday is Picture Day. If you would like your child to wear specific shoes for the photo, just let them know. Otherwise, they will be wearing their gym shoes.
                                                           

Scholastic book orders will be going home today. If you would like to order books, the order will be submitted on Thursday, October 31. The orders can be placed online, or sent to school, and I will put the order in.

The pizza fundraiser ends next week, on Monday, October 21, 2019.

Field Trip Permission Forms

The field trip permissions forms were sent home today with the students. School Cash Online has been set up to allow you to pay electronically.

                                       

Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive

Mass

We will be celebrating Mass as a school community tomorrow morning at 10:00. If you are free, we would love for you to celebrate with us in the gym.
