Drama Rubrics and LALM

The students will be bringing home rubrics for their plays this weekend. Please sign, and return them.

Also, LALM will be starting up again next week.
                                               

New Math Unit Starts Tomorrow

We will beginning our new Math unit tomorrow. The unit will focus on adding and subtracting to 100. They will learn different strategies to assist them in doing so. They will also learn to add and subtract with regrouping.

Data Management Test

The students will have their Data Management test on Thursday morning. We will be completing the unit tomorrow, and reviewing the unit on Wednesday.

L'hiver Plays

The students will be performing their L'hiver plays for me on Wednesday, January 29. LALM will continue next week.

Robert Munsch

Yesterday, we were surprised by a response to the letters that we wrote to Robert Munsch on Robert Munsch Day. He sent a story and inserted some of the students' names in it. He also answered some questions for us. We were sent a poster for one of his books. Each student will receive a copy of the story Patches. 

 Also, Loonie License forms will be sent home today.

Data Management

We have learning how to create good survey questions, conduct a survey, and represent the data in a bar graph.

      

   

                                       

Scholastic Book Orders and LALM

The book orders went home last week. If you would like to place an order, i will be submitting them on Friday.

 LALM will not be going home this week. They will be working on their play, L'hiver, this week.

P.A. Day

Just a reminder that there is a P.A. Day tomorrow.

                                             

Parent Homework Tonight

In our Fully Alive unit, we are talking about growing and learning. The students will be bringing home a worksheet about them learning and growing. They will need your assistance completing this page. We will be going overt their answers tomorrow.

Today, we learned the characteristics of a good survey question. Tomorrow, they will be creating their own survey questions, and conduct a survey in the classroom.

Geometry Tests

The geometry test will be going home this weekend to be signed. Also, the students will not have LALM next week, because they will be bringing a play, L'hiver, to be worked on at home.

New Math Unit and Fully Alive

We finished our math unit today with a math test. They will begin their next unit Data Management and Probability tomorrow. They will learn about how the probability of events change. They will learn to use probability vocabulary such as: like, unlike, certain, etc... They will be learning how to read and create graphs. 

We have also begun our first Fully Alive unit. In this unit we talk about how God created each person to be unique. We will also discuss some of the milestones we go through as we get older (learning to crawl, walk, ride a bike, read).

Math Unit Test -Geometry

I hope that everyone had a nice, restful holiday. We finished our Geometry unit just before Christmas time. Today we spent the day reviewing all the 3D solids we had learned. The students gave attributes of each of the solids. We will having our unit test tomorrow.
