Bring a Smock

The students that have paid, will be participating in the Mother's Day craft tomorrow with Art Splash. The students will be working with paint. It is suggested that the students bring a smock to wear, so that they do not get paint on their clothes.

Field Trip and art Splash

The students had a great morning at the Tecumseh Historic Museum this morning. They were able to tour a house from 1799, they learned about the important figures in the history of Tecumseh, and they were able to hear stories from a First Nations person.



Next week, we will be having Art Splash visit the school for the Mother's Day craft/gift. If you haven't already done so, please pay for the activity either online or by bringing the money to the school. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Field Trip

The grade 2/3 and 3 students will be participating in a field trip to the Tecumseh Historical Museum on Thursday, April 25. The forms were sent home with the students yesterday. Please complete the forms and pay (online or cash) by tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. The children will be learning about The early settlers, and First Nations People of the area.

Math Test and Jump Rope for Heart

We are coming to an end in our math units. The students have been exploring different ways in which to measure. They have also learned about perimeter and area, and how we measure each. They will be having a test by the end of the week.

We are beginning our Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser today. The information about the fundraiser will be going home today.

Art Splash Atelier

We will be participating in an atelier (workshop) put on by Art Splash to create special gifts for the mothers of our students. The cost of this activity is $14.00. Payments can be made online, or brought into the school.

Science and Social Studies

The students are finishing up their Science units. The grade 2 students have learned about the three states of matter, and are able to describe each state. The grade 3 students have been learning about plants. We have discussed the needs of plants to survive. They have also learned the different parts of pants and flowers.

The students will begin their new Social Studies units tomorrow. The grade 2 will continue looking at different countries, and their people. We will be further examining the adaptions made by each community. We will be discussing their languages, celebrations, and traditions as well.

The grade 3 students will be doing a unit on the First Nations people of Canada.

The Little Caesars Pizza orders can be picked up after school on after school on Tuesday, April 9th.

                            

Autism Awareness Day

Tomorrow is Autism Awareness Day. All students are asked to wear blue.
