We are beginning our new Math units. The focus will be on Linear Measurement: Area, and Perimeter. It is important that all students have a 30 cm ruler. Practice measuring objects at home.
The students will be painting rock on Thursday or Friday. Please make sure that your child brings a rock approximately the size of their palm, so that they can participate in the activity. Rocks are needed for tomorrow.
The grade 2 students will be going to Good Shepard Parish tomorrow to participate in a First Communion Retreat. The students are going to a French Concert at l"Essor. Please send permission forms and ten dollars to the school by tomorrow.

Message for Good Shepard Perish
This week, we read about how Jesus shared a love meal with his disciples and the promise he made that he would never leave us alone.
Good Deed Booklet
We continue to work on our Good Deeds bringing in the completed certificates they have done and getting leaves to fill our bare tree...let's see that tree grow!
We Go to Mass
Monday, the children brought home a Mass Booklet. Every part of the Mass is in it. Please encourage your child to bring this with him/her each week. They will be able to follow along and know what to say at the different parts of the Mass.
What is your favourite part of the Mass?
Is it the singing? The readings? Giving Peace? Receiving Communion?
Share your thoughts with your child and ask them what their favourite part is. Now that they can follow along, Mass might have more meaning to them.

We will also be celebrating Shrove Tuesday with a pancake lunch. This is the beginning of our lenten journey. We will be celebrating Ash Wednesday mass at 2:00 in the gym. If you are able to attend, we would love to see you there. Each student will be involved in the mass in some way. We hope to see you there.

A message from Mrs. Betty at Good Shepard Parish
Jesus Shows His Love! And a Wonderful Gift!
As the children prepare to receive Jesus in their first Holy Communion, we encourage them to try to live and love like Jesus.
Jesus gave the gift of himself. We can give the gift of ourselves to others too. Throughout our preparation for First Communion, we will be using Jesus' Tree of Good Deed Certificate Booklet to give the gift of ourselves to others.
Good Deed Certificate Booklet: This week, your child is brought home a booklet for them to give certificates to friends and family members. On each certificate they write something they have done for someone- giving the gift of themselves to others. Their booklet has 4 certificates. Jesus Tree of Good Deeds: each week, have your child bring back their Certificate booklet and tell us what they did. For every certificate (Good Deed) done, your child receives a leaf, on the leaf they will write what they have done then tape the leaf to the tree. As we fill the tree with leaves for acts of love that we have done (forgiving, healing, & feeding), we will watch our Jesus tree grow!
