Christmas Concert

We had our dress rehearsal today in the gym, and it went really well. The students sang for the school beautifully. I received compliments all afternoon for how well they did. Tomorrow is the big day. I have simply asked the students to dress nicely for tomorrow night's performance. Looking forward to see everyone tomorrow night!

Making Nets

The students were making nets of different solids today. They used stir sticks, toothpicks, and tape.

Raffle Baskets

Dear Parents,

The St. André Catholic School Council would like to thank you for all of the generous donations made to our Christmas Raffle Baskets. Each class has put together a beautiful collection of themed items. Ticket sales will begin on Monday, December 16^th, 2019. The cost will be 3 Tickets for $2.00 or 10 Tickets for $5.00. Parents can send money to the school with their child to purchase tickets. The student will then bring home the numbered ticket(s). Please return the portion with the student name on it and the student will then place them in the basket that they want to win. The Parent Council will be selling tickets for the Raffle at the Christmas Concert & Family Dinner.

Baskets are available for viewing in the front foyer. The draw will take place on Thursday, December 19^th at our Christmas Concert and Family Dinner at the Ciociaro Club. Winners do not have to be present in order to claim their prize, but someone must present their winning numbered ticket when called. The office will contact the winners that were unable to attend. All money raised will be used to purchase school related items intended to enhance our children’s educational experience. Thank you again for your continued support.

Robert Munsch Day

We had a great day on Robert Munsch Day. We started the day with a couple word problems based on his books "Makeup Mess" and Moira's Birthday".
                      

                      

                      
                                                

In the Afternoon, we read a couple of stories as a class. Then, we each wrote letters to Robert Munch. We had a little time to read our stories silently at our desks. We had a great time at the St. Anne's Christmas Concert this afternoon.

Robert Munsch Day

We have been reading many books in class by the author Robert Munsch. They love to see the reading the hilarious stories that he has created. The love of Robert Munsch made them question his age, and his birthday. They wanted to celebrate his birthday (June11, 1945). It was later decided to celebrate Robert Munsch Day as a class, 6 months before his actual birthday.
                                                   
                                                   

The whole day will be dedicated to Robert Munsch. We will have math that is Munsch themed. We will be writing letters to Robert Munsch, and reading many of his amazing stories. If you have any Robert Munsch Books at home, preferably in French, they may be brought to school that day. Robert Munsch Day will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 11.

                                                       

Social Studies

We have finished our Science units for the time being, and have begun Social Studies. The students will be looking at the different regions of the world.

Math Test

The math test will be on Friday. We will be doing a review tomorrow.

Letters Sent Home Today

There will be quite a few letters going home today. The first is the Harvest Fresh Order Forms. Friday will be  Loonie License Day. If you would like your child to participate, fill out the form and send money to school, either online or cash. Finally, the school community will be going to St. Anne High School again this year to see their Christmas Concert on December 6. There will be no charge for this outing. Please complete the permission form and return to the school as soon as possible.

Advent Mass and Math Test

Just a reminder that we will be doing the Advent Mass, along with Mme Morand's class on Wednesday, November 27 at 2:00pm. If you are free at the time, we would love to have you there, to celebrate with us.
                                                        

We are coming to the end of our Measurement unit. The students will have a Math Test to complete the unit, on Thursday, November 28.

Crazy Sock Day

We finished Anti-Bullying Week with Crazy Sock Day.

Advent Mass

St. André will be celebrating our Advent Mass on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Our class and Mme Morand's classe will be putting on the mass. If you are available, please feel free to join us. The students who will have something to read for the mass will be bringing it it home to practice.
 
                                                 

Hot Dogs

Hot Dog order forms are due on Friday, November 22, 2019. Hot Dog Day will take place on Friday, November 29, 2019.

Christmas Baskets

The theme for our Christmas Basket this year is: Holiday Basket. I went to seek some clarification, and was told that our basket could include anything that is festive, or items that could be used during the holiday season. Ideas could include: Christmas decorations, games or activities you might do during the holiday season. Perhaps Christmas movies or snacks.

Anti-Bullying Week

We are celebrating Anti-Bullying Week at St. André. Today is Kindness Day. The students are encouraged to do acts of kindness for one another. The students will be recognized for their kindness at the office. Tuesday is Pink Shirt Day. All students are encouraged too wear a pink shirt. Wednesday, we will be participating in a School Wide Pledge. It is also Picture Retake Day. Thursday, the grade 5/6 students will be putting on an Anti-Bullying presentation for the school. Friday, we will be concluding the week with Crazy Sock Day.
