Capacity and Mass, Plays, and Donations
Our Measurement is continuing, but we are moving in a slightly different direction. We will be focusing the second half of this unit on Capacity and Mass. We will be doing some hands-on activities in class o get a better idea of what these two words mean. We will be looking at capacity first, and how much can fit into a container. You can try this at home. Compare the sizes of different containers at home.
They students will be presenting their Plays to me and their classmates in class tomorrow. They have been asked to dress for their part, which means, if they are supposed to be a white bunny, to wear white clothing. I hope that this doesn't cause any confusion. They parents will be invited into the classroom at a later date to view their plays. Please stay tuned for that.
There are a couple different fundraisers happening right now. The first is the Parent Council baskets. They have assigned each class a theme, to create a basket that will be raffled off at the Christmas concert. Our theme is Disney Toys. If you are able to purchase anything for the basket, they would be very grateful for your donation. The second donations we are asking for are supplies (toiletries, socks, mitts, tuques, etc...) that will be donated to Drouillard Place.

Spirit Wear and Extra Socks
As the temperature is changing, it is more more and more wet outside. The students frequently come back to class with soaked feet. I'm suggesting that you put a couple extra pairs of socks in their back packs in case this happens to them.

Some Updates
We recently began our third Mathematics unit. The focus of this unit is measurement. The students are learning about time, and how to tell time using an analogue clock. This is a difficult concept for some. We are also learning about elapsed time, which is also a difficult concept for some. Please practice these skills with your child.
