Grade 4

We have been discussing castle living. The students are organizing their own feast for the king. They will be working in groups to celebrate the king coming to town. They will be creating an advertisement for their event. They will also be performing their festivities to the king (me) on Tuesday. All work will be done in class.

New Year, New Adventure

Many of you already know me from years past, I've been fortunate enough to be able to teach many of your children already. This year I have the opportunity to teach your children Science and Social Studies. I look forward to the year ahead.

Please check the blog periodically for little updates of what the students are doing.

We have all begun our Social Studies Units. The grade 4 students are learning about the Middle Ages, and the lifestyle of people at that time. The children are really engaged in our talks about: kings and queens, castles, and battles between the French and English.

The grade 5 studies are learning about the first people in Canada, the indigenous people. We are learning about the lifestyles of each group, based on their location in Canada.

The grade 6 students have begun a unit learning about communities in Canada, past and present. We are currently looking at the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We will be examining how immigrants have enriched our culture in Canada.
