Dear Parent(s),
The students have all chosen a country that they are interested in ,and would like to learn more about. Over the next couple of weeks, the students are going to research their country. They will be presenting their country to the class. The research should answer the following questions:
- Where is it located?
- What language(s) is spoken in the country?
- What are some special celebrations that they celebrate?
- What is the weather like? Have they had to make special adaptations to survive in their country?
- What do the houses look like? What are they made from?
- What religion is practiced the most in the country?
- What food do they cultivate in the country?
The due date is: June 3, 2015

Fractions
We are finishing up our math unit, and the last concept to learn is fractions! We have learned that fractions represent par of a whole. We are learning how to write fractions as well. They have learned that the top number is called the numerator, and represents the shaded area. The bottom number is the denominator, it represents the equal part of the whole.
We are just finishing up on the car projects. The students did a great job building cars that roll.

Catholic Education Week
We are having a great time celebrating Catholic Education Week at St Anne's. We enjoyed practicing yoga Monday morning. We had the opportunity to learn about the harp and the cello Tuesday, and listen to a performance by some of the parents at St. Anne. We also made rosaries in the afternoon. Today, Fr. Greg came to celebrate the Eucharist. Tomorrow, we will be praying the Living Rosary at 1pm. Friday, there will be a presentation given to students from grades k-4, by diary farmers. There will also be a Walk of Hope Friday afternoon. The students are asked to donate money, which will be donated to the victims of the Napal Earthquake.
